Loving Children In His Name

It is only now that I understand the sacrifice that mom and dad gave to raise my brothers and me.  Now that I am a mom myself, I know how hard it is to parent one child let alone five. It takes an enormous amount of patience, love, strength and courage to raise children especially ones that are not your own.

With my parents on our wedding day.

Although my parents may have made a few mistakes along the way, like all parents do, they provided enough of what we needed to become loving, confident, faithful and successful adults.

I couldn’t imagine having children of multiple age groups in my care all at once without going through the learning stages as the child grows from birth.  Some people are born with a natural talent to care for children, just like my parents.

Adoption (or fostering) is such a beautiful blessing for both parent and child.  There are so many children that are in need of a loving home and there are so many adults who dream of being parents.

“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,” Matthew 18:5 ESV

May you receive the blessings God has for you by loving children in his name.

Love always,

Jennifer
