It feels so good when the words “I forgive you” are said. That is what my husband said when he was upset that I had said some negative words to him the other day. It was unexpected, simple and honest; and those words he said reminded me of why I love him so much. I know how hard it is to forgive the little things because these things are so easy to stay mad about.
I have had to forgive some very big things in my life. One of them was being able to forgive my biological mother and father. My mother was an alcoholic and father took his own life when I was three. I was blessed to have family in my life that raised my brothers and me in a very loving home; for that I am so very grateful and blessed.
Forgiving others can release your heart from grief and empower you. Jesus said….
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25 NIVEven though the issue you may be trying to forgive is very deep, don’t carry the burden, let Jesus take care of it for you.
May God give you peace and love.
